"Advanced technologies for sustainable mobility". This is the motto of the first-ever Mobility Day North America which will be staged at The Westin Charlotte in Charlotte, North Carolina. The event is geared towards our customers from the tire and automotive industry that is growing in the United States. Since 2009 increasing numbers of vehicles have been produced from year to year - in 2011 the USA produced 40 percent more cars than Germany and 4 times more tires than Brazil. Also the vehicle density in the USA is 1.6 times higher than in Germany and 13 times higher than in China.
Among the renowned keynote speakers is Bob Lutz (former Vice Chairman at General Motors Company) - a legend in the automotive industry and a real "car guy". He is author of the book "Car guys vs. Bean Counters" and will share his experiences and visions with the audience.
Besides the external speakers the Board of Management of LANXESS AG will be attending the high-profile event, that features keynote speeches as well as panel discussions on innovation and technology as well as "breakout sessions" focussing on tires, high-performance materials and technical rubber products.
When we first launched LANXESS Rubber Day in 2009, we created a high-level forum that has risen to a place of prominence in the tire industry’s annual calendar of events. Rubber Day and the additional events we have since developed – Automotive Day and Mobility Day – now serve as vital gatherings at which leading experts from the rubber, tire and automotive industries join with policymakers and top academics to discuss the latest developments and exchange views.
As one of the world’s leading specialty chemicals companies, LANXESS is uniquely positioned to sponsor this series of events that have become a permanent, internationally recognized networking platform for the business sectors we serve. The rapid expansion of personal mobility and vehicle ownership represents a global megatrend that presents an array of significant challenges and opportunities. As a provider of technical solutions that address these issues, LANXESS is pleased to be of service in facilitating communication and understanding.
