LANXESS presenting new solutions for the tire processing industry at ITEC 2018

  • Vulkanol® TOF – a new rubber additive for improved wet and ice grip and rolling resistance
  • Improved tire reversion resistance with Vulcuren® and Perkalink® anti-reversion agents
  • Solutions for all stages of tire production

Pittsburgh, PA – September 6, 2018– Global specialty chemicals company LANXESS will present a range of products and services for the tire industry at the International Tire Exhibition & Conference (ITEC) taking place September 11 – 13, 2018 in Akron, Ohio.  In booth #321, LANXESS Corporation’s Rhein Chemie business unit will highlight a new, innovative rubber additive for improved wet and ice grip and rolling resistance, Vulkanol® TOF, along with its portfolio of tire industry solutions that include Rhenodiv® release agents, Rhenoshape® curing bladders, Rhenomark® marking paints and Rhenogran®, Perkalink® and Vulcuren® high-performance curing systems.

 

During the conference, Dr. Hermann-Josef Weidenhaupt, Senior Application Technology Specialist for business unit Rhein Chemie, will detail how the use of LANXESS’ new Vulkanol TOF rubber additive resulted in improvements in the ‘magic triangle’ of tire technology in silica tread formulations in a paper titled, “Vulkanol TOF To Improve Wet and Ice Traction in Tires” on Wednesday, September 12 from 4:00 – 4:30 p.m. 

 

Additionally, Joel Neilsen, Technical Applications Specialist for business unit Rhein Chemie, will discuss two LANXESS additives – Vulcuren and Perkalink 900 – that act in two different ways to reduce reversion in TBR and OTR tires, thus prolonging service life, on Wednesday, September 12 from 2:30 – 3:00 p.m.  In the presentation titled, “Two Compounding Additives to Improve Tire Reversion Resistance”, the features of each additive will be detailed, along with the method of reducing reversion, offering tire compounders a choice in determining the best way to reduce reversion in processing.
