LANXESS introduces new Solbrol® preservatives for cosmetics protection
Product launch at the New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists (NYSCC) Suppliers’ Day, May 2 – 3, 2017, Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, New York City, booth #1049
Pittsburgh, PA – May 1, 2017– Specialty chemicals company LANXESS Corporation is launching several new preservatives alongside its existing range of paraben-free protection products. The new products – Solbrol® FFA, ABC, ABR and ACC, will be introduced to the U.S. market at the NYSCC Suppliers’ Day taking place May 2 and 3 in New York City.
Solbrol FFA is a preservative-free fruit acid blend that is highly effective against both bacteria and fungi. This GMO-free product is designed for oral care, hair care and skin care, for both leave-on and rinse-off applications.
Solbrol ABC, ABR and ACC are blends based on ethyl lauroyl arginate HCL. Soluble in water and effective against fungi and staphylococcus, these products have been designed for use in skin care, deodorant and hair color applications.
Tony Mazzarella, NAFTA business manager, explains: “Formulators are increasingly concerned about microbial contamination in cosmetics. Without preservatives, skin creams, makeup and shampoos can become contaminated and spoil from mold, fungi and bacteria. Cosmetic formulators’ options for useful, non-restricted preservatives has continued to shrink over the years. Our new Solbrol products offer the cosmetic market innovative options to protect and stabilize the value of their formulations. These products have been designed specifically to meet the technical market trends while keeping cosmetics safe throughout their useful life.”
As a leading global specialty chemicals producer operating according to global quality standards, LANXESS personal care ingredients are notable for their high purity. The cosmetic preservatives of the Solbrol range include paraben-free and preservative-free (free of formaldehyde, halogen, and isothiazolinones donors) blends designed to protect cosmetic formulations. In addition, LANXESS’ Purolan® portfolio features isoparaffins, actives, UV filters, esters and aroma chemicals.
