Randy Dearth to leave LANXESS Corporation, Flemming B. Bjørnslev named new U.S. President and CEO

LANXESS announced today that President and CEO Randy Dearth will leave LANXESS Corporation, effective July 31, to take the role of President and CEO for Calgon Carbon Corporation.  Flemming B. Bjørnslev will succeed Dearth as the new President and CEO of LANXESS Corporation, taking over at a later date.  Raymond Newhouse, CFO of LANXESS Corporation, will serve as the acting CEO in the interim. 

Dearth was named President and CEO of LANXESS Corporation in 2004 when the company was carved-out of Bayer Corporation.  Randy joined Bayer in 1988 and has held various positions with Bayer/ LANXESS, including sales, product management and applications development. Randy had been serving as the President and CEO of Bayer Chemicals Corporation when LANXESS was formed and then went on to become the President and CEO of LANXESS Corporation.

Bjørnslev has been with the company for 22 years and is currently the Chief Executive Officer of LANXESS Central Eastern Europe s.r.o. He began his career with Bayer AG in Germany in 1990 as deputy sales manager in the Polyurethanes business unit, and has held various positions at Bayer/LANXESS within several business units. Since January 1, 2008 Bjørnslev has been Chief Executive Officer of LANXESS Central Eastern Europe s.r.o.
