Rhein Chemie to open North American Technology Center

The Lubricant Oil Additive (LOA) division of Rhein Chemie Corporation announced today that it will extend its global technology network by establishing a North American Technology Center in Pittsburgh, Pa.  The laboratory will be headed by Simon Morton, Rhein Chemie’s Technical Manager for the Americas, and is expected to be complete by January 2012.  The Center, which will be a cornerstone in the development of next generation lubricant additives, will also offer fluid testing, analysis and trouble-shooting for Rhein Chemie customers.  Rhein Chemie will now have regional LOA technology centers in China and the U.S., anchored by the Global Technology Center in Mannheim, Germany.

“This decision further strengthens our commitment to the lubricant industry in North America,” said Michael Assaf, Director of Lubricant Oil Additives for North America.  Mr. Assaf added that, “Rhein Chemie is a technology leader in the lubricant additive industry, and it makes perfect sense that we increase our presence in this important market.”

Rhein Chemie’s lubricant additives include corrosion inhibitors, sulfur based extreme pressure agents, antiwear agents, packages and additives for greases, hydraulic oils, gear oils and metalworking fluids, which are sold under the ADDITIN® brand.
