Specialty chemicals company LANXESS demonstrated its expertise in product innovation for synthetic rubber by unveiling the LANXESS AA concept tire. The concept tire is among the first to be presented that would earn a double-A rating under the new labeling regulations that go into effect in November in the European Union.

LANXESS is expanding its global production network for high-tech plastics. On September 17 LANXESS inaugurated a new plant for hightech plastics in Gastonia, North Carolina. The capacity expansions reflect the growing demand for high-tech plastics being driven above all by rising car production and the trend towards lighter automobiles.
